Capacity on the shoot, speed after it
A flash draws hard on every pop, and the shots you get from a set depend on capacity. pro AA, at 2,600 mAh typical, is the cell to carry on a shoot. A standard AA set makes a sensible backup in the bag: it holds less, but it keeps its charge for years between jobs.
After the shoot comes the charge. The CC55 and CC65 bring four pro AA back in about four hours by Panasonic’s figures, and the CC63 takes eight cells at once, two flash sets, in about six hours for pro. The overnight chargers work too if the next shoot is days away.
